"Rosie" is our 3rd Bred by Dog

Rosie was born 11-16-2000.  She is my 3rd bred by dog.  She was born in our bedroom in Andersonville, TN.   Rosie was whelped by a dear friend, Julie, while we were in Colorado looking at property.  I arrived home when the litter was 4 days old and knew within minutes that this red tri girl was for us to keep.  Her sire is  Native Drum of Touchstone and her dam is Touchstone For All Seasons.  I have been blessed to be able to get wonderful dogs from Lisa Cameron-Touchstone Kennels, from Washington State.  We can’t say enough about this girl Rosie.  She was leash broke by one of our grand daughters, Skyler.  Skyler was about 7 years old at the time she came to visit us on the farm in Tennessee for a couple weeks.  Rosie was the only puppy on the farm then and they took to each other like magnets!  A child with a pup is just the best.  Skyler never let Rosie out of her sight.  They played, ate, ran, and fell asleep together every night.  Rosie went everywhere:  to town and even to get the mail which was a long walk.

Rosie’s first outing in the show world was the Nationals held in Colorado in 2001.  Rosie took 3rd place in Puppy Sweepstakes under Leslie Soreson.  At 8 months old, Rosie went to Georgia and won Winner’s Bitch out of the bred-by class and a 5 point major under Sunday Miles.  In front of the whole class, Sunday Miles stated that there was nothing to hide on Rosie and that she had not seen anything quite so nice in a while. From there, Rosie got Reserve Winner’s Bitch under Ann DeChant in ID.  Then another 5 pt major, another 4 pt major.  Needing only 1 point to finish, Rosie finished her championship with a 5 point major, all from bred-by classes!

Rosie is a great nanny to all pups and is one of the best mothers I have ever known.  Rosie is almost at the end of her breeding career.  Her first litter she was bred to Countrywoods Take Charge Sarge, which is how we have Stormy Lee's Fire Inside, Buddy, and co-own Stormy Lee's Bit Of Countrywoods, Lil'Bit.   She has had two wonderful litters from Carol Ann Hartnagle’s male, Las Rocosa Chance Of A Lifetime (Foddy).
